yummy!
Everytime there is a birthday in my sons kindergarten class [which there happened to be this past Friday], we will be making cupcakes for the entire class [teachers included!]. I am proud to say that when I make these cupcakes, with HOMEMADE icing, I get compliments EVERY TIME!
There were only four of each color [red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple]. I was told that these disappeared pretty quickly! My husband was very upset that he didn’t get to have even one bite.
Tomorrow is my son’s SIXTH birthday, so that means more cupcakes! I think that the children in his classroom are going to looooove me! ha ha
As for the birthday party – it ran so smoothly, if you don’t include the first five to ten minutes. I was still in the kitchen freaking out.
The party was done in the theme of Transformers. It was SUPPOSED to be in Harry Potter -but the store I was supposed to by all of the HP stuff from discontinued every item I needed as I went to purchase the items. I was furious. I have so many ideas though for a HP themed party. Hopefully, throughout the next twelve months, I can find the items I need to throw the HP party for next year’s birthday. With the transformers though, it was still a lot of fun.
The games we played were:
Autobot, Autobot, Decepticon [think Duck, Duck, Goose]
Transformers Bingo [instead of numbers and the letters B-I-N-G-O, we just had pictures for them to match up with the ones I was pulling out of the bag]. We played with red and blue m+m’s and I had to keep handing the bingo checkers out because people kept on eating them!

We then played a transformers matching game. Instead of matching the same picture, they had to match the transformer and the shape it transformed into/out of. One thing I learned while making a set of these cards for every child that came was the following: use the stick glue rather than the glue bottle. Otherwise, this is what will happen if you use the glue from the bottle:

Then, we had food – I made red and blue rice crispy treats, cupcakes, and my husband made the rest of the food [because he is just amazing] so I wouldn’t have to much to do. I didn’t serve them in the pans -but I didn’t take pictures of any of the food after it was completely prepared.

yummy!
After the food my son opened his presents and just loved everything he got. He particularly fell in love with his new MP3 Player, Bicycle, Batman Walkie Talkies, Harry Potter Scarf, and his Transformers Starscream Barrel Roll Blaster.
Then, to finnish up the party – we went outside and had a Transformers war. We had multpile cans of silly string and had a blast. We got so carried away with spraying the cans -pictures weren’t taken until after all of the cans were empty.

I’ll be sure to post more pictures of the party later [as this includes: gifts, party prep, goodie bags, and SOME of the presents].
