Day One: F vs F

Today, I was mostly on the road and had no time/energy to exercise at the end of the day. Throughout the day though, I ate the following:

Large sweet tea from McDonald’s.

3 handfuls of Raisins.

Approximately 1 to 1.5 cups of chicken salad [chicken, mayo, walnuts, and raisins].

and THEN -a 2x quarter pounder with a small order of fries. Medium sweet tea and and ice cream cone.

The end of the day REALLY kicked me in the butt. I didn’t take measurements this morning, weigh myself, or take photos. BUT, I should do that sometime within the next twenty four hours. Tomorrow, I will be gone the majority of the day to because of those errands I couldn’t take care of today. Returning items, and getting an oil change, and a few other things. All of which are nowhere close to my house because I live in the middle of Nowheresville.

Also, about the giveaway -ANY comment left on ANY of the F vs F blogs in an entry for the giveaway! TWELVE days left! Who will it be?!

Question: How long does your diet/exercise plan last until you stray [whether it be accidental or not]?

to forgive or not to forgive…

Along with flabulous vs fabulous, I am going to be starting another series of blogs that have to do with forgiveness, or lack of forgiveness. I myself seem to find forgiving a very challenging task at times. I don’t always know if it REALLY IS better to forgive than to just forget or just move on from that specific situation/set of situations at hand. I don’t always know why people forgive either. Nor do I completely understand how they can forgive SO quickly.

Example: The Amish Community + Charles Carl Roberts IV. Almost immediately, the Amish community  [pretty much nationwide] forgave this man. What did they forgive him for? Where was their grieving period? How could they not have been angry?

I myself have not been in situations as horrible as this, however -I still find it very difficult to forgive certain situations/actions/etc.  Myself, I have to take in what I am forgiving somebody for. I couldn’t see me forgiving myself if I killed someone else -so why should I think that someone else would forgive me for that?

It’s something that I wouldn’t so much as say I have been struggling with lately, but something I have been trying to figure it out. I have certain people who go on about this topic all of the time, and how I should do it more often than I do.

With this series, I am going to continuously take in emails. I will gather 10 at a time and post into a blog. No names will be given out. Just situations/actions. That way, the situation/actions are seen, not necessarily a person. I will post the stories and then let my readers leave their comments on said stories.  What do YOU want forgiveness for? What are you having a hard time forgiving SOMEONE ELSE of? What are you opinions of forgiveness? Can you TRULY forgive if you don’t forget? How come it’s easier to forget than it is to forgive?

What do you all think?

Subway. Fail.

So, as I am getting things ready for my son’s birthday party Saturday.. my husband runs to town and picks up some food [after I called it in, of course]. We get the food from Subway. We only have a McDonald’s and Subway in this town [and it was still breakfast time for McDonald's -and I hate breakfast food, so we went with Subway]. So I call and tell them what I want. A  foot long, white bread, turkey, with mayo, carrots, lettuce, tomatoes, and olives. Then I tell then the tricky sandwich. I tell them I want a foot long, white bread, B.L.T. with extra mayo. THE PICTURE BELOW is what I got. Seriously?!

BLT?

BLT?

I thought that it was pretty much implied when someone orders/ordered a BLT that they want BACON, LETTUCE, and TOMATO, on said sandwich. My husband did not check the sandwiches before he came home, unfortunately. I did not make him go back and get another one, yet. And. yes -I put my own lettuce and tomatoes on the sandwich.
What would you do if this happened to you?

Transformers!

yummy!

yummy!

Everytime there is a birthday in my sons kindergarten class [which there happened to be this past Friday], we will be making cupcakes for the entire class [teachers included!]. I am proud to say that when I make these cupcakes, with HOMEMADE icing, I get compliments EVERY TIME!

There were only four of each color [red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple]. I was told that these disappeared pretty quickly! My husband was very upset that he didn’t get to have even one bite.

Tomorrow is my son’s SIXTH birthday, so that means more cupcakes! I think that the children in his classroom are going to looooove me! ha ha

As for the birthday party – it ran so smoothly, if you don’t include the first five to ten minutes. I was still in the kitchen freaking out.

The party was done in the theme of Transformers. It was SUPPOSED to be in Harry Potter -but the store I was supposed to by all of the HP stuff from discontinued every item I needed as I went to purchase the items. I was furious. I have so many ideas though for a HP themed party. Hopefully, throughout the next twelve months, I can find the items I need to throw the HP party for next year’s birthday. With the transformers though, it was still a lot of fun.

The games we played were:

Autobot, Autobot, Decepticon [think Duck, Duck, Goose]

Transformers Bingo [instead of numbers and the letters B-I-N-G-O, we just had pictures for them to match up with the ones I was pulling out of the bag]. We played with red and blue m+m’s and I had to keep handing the bingo checkers out because people kept on eating them!

We then played a transformers matching game. Instead of matching the same picture, they had to match the transformer and the shape it transformed into/out of. One thing I learned while making a set of these cards for every child that came was the following: use the stick glue rather than the glue bottle. Otherwise, this is what will happen if you use the glue from the bottle:

Then, we had food – I made red and blue rice crispy treats, cupcakes, and my husband made the rest of the food [because he is just amazing] so I wouldn’t have to much to do.  I didn’t serve them in the pans -but I didn’t take pictures of any of the food after it was completely prepared.

yummy!

yummy!

After the food my son opened his presents and just loved everything he got. He particularly fell in love with his new MP3 Player, Bicycle, Batman Walkie Talkies, Harry Potter Scarf, and his Transformers Starscream Barrel Roll Blaster.

Then, to finnish up the party – we went outside and had a Transformers war. We had multpile cans of silly string and had a blast. We got so carried away with spraying the cans -pictures weren’t taken until after all of the cans were empty.

I’ll be sure to post more pictures of the party later [as this includes: gifts, party prep, goodie bags, and SOME of the presents].

flabulous vs fabulous

Over the course of the coming months [I am sure]… I will be posting password protected blogs that will share my journey from transforming myself. From Flabulous to Fabulous. I will be tracking my progress by my weight, exercise, measurements[?], photos, and my diet[?]. I will not just include information on my *positive* days.  Feel free to leave comments, suggestions, etc while partaking in this journey with me! Let me know if you decide to do this as well. Buddy systems are always fun.

I have decided to do this, because I am just starting to feel horrible and yucky about the way that I look. I wouldn’t say that I am morbidly obese. However, I am DEFINITELY overweight [and if *not* DEFINITELY... it still shows on this 5'0 frame of mine that it wouldn't hurt if I lost any weight], and DEFINITELY out of shape. I’m not really looking for a number, just fitness/toneness [example: having the ability to climb up the stairs at my son's school without getting unbelievably out of breath]. Regardless of having TWO kids – I am supposed to have an amazing body, because at this age [24] I have the ability to maintain an amazing body-so I think I should!! I want to control my weight and level of fitness before it controls me. Plus, diabetes runs in my family -and that is NOT something I want to personally deal with myself. Everyone says that I look good – but I want to look better! I don’t want to just do good for my body/health – I want to do better!

Even after I get to what I would consider to be Fabulous -I will still keep track of my weight and diet and photos – just for my own kicks and for proof that I CAN maintain it.. [plus any other reason/way that someone else could benefit from it].

If you want the password just email me. You don’t have to leave a comment letting the whole world [ha] know that you are following/encouraging me/inspiring yourself/etc that specific set of blogs on this blog. [my email is:notmadewithcheese at gmail dot com]

Apples and Oranges

Just in case you didn’t know… THIS, in the picture below, is what would happen if you used an apple corer on an orange. The kids and I were in the kitchen, just “experimenting” with different things, and this seemed to be the one with the funniest end result. As soon as the kids saw what happened [or what DIDN'T happen for that matter!] when trying it on the orange they were thrown into a fit of laughter which lasted at least 10 minutes. They said that a picture was MANDATORY, so here it is. Enjoy.

On another note… My son’s 6th birthday is rapidly approaching. It will be next Wednesday! For a good while we had Harry Potter for the theme. I mean a GOOD while, however, some much needed supplies were not able to be found so the theme got changed, and I fear it’s going to have it’s “shortcomings” too. The theme, however, is going to be Transformers. A lot of the planning is still in the making -but I have faith that I can have everything done by Friday night. I also plan on posting pictures of the festivities [which will be taking place THIS Saturday]. Please pray that my procrastination doesn’t kick in. On the rest of getting the party together or the putting up of pictures. Yeah!

Holy crap! What is this? A blog?!

Obviously.

I’m not really “good” at this whole blogging thing [if you have been a reader of my past blogs-you know this from your lack-of-reading-my-blog-entries-because-they-never-came-about-experience]. I’m not even for sure if I have an opinion on blogs/blogging in the first place, which is why I have never been a “steady” blogger. So I guess maybe with setting up my own [for the umpteenth time], and actually trying to devote myself to stick to it [rather than setting it up because I am just bored], and seeing what comes from it [or doesn't] it may help me come up with an opinion about blogs/blogging.

This blog though isn’t just set up for that purpose though. I really DO like the idea of writing stuff on the interweb and getting other peoples replies/thoughts about the things I wouldn’t necessarily be vocal about had someone else not brought it up.

I am willing [and very anxious] to blog about a huge variety of things, although it may take some time for me to decide how to go about putting it in a blog.  I will be blogging about everything [politics, religion, money, house management, being a wife, being a mother, education, being green, websites, other blogs, music/musicians, art/artists, holidays, family tiffs, locations, vacationing, pregnancy...not-that-i-am-or-ever-will-be-again, working/volunteering, etc etc]. I also hope [fingers crossed] to blog a few times a week. Maybe more. We will see!
